The story of Pentecost is a legendary tale, except for the part that is historical, True and forms the basis to how we still see God at work through the power of the Holy Spirit. Sounds of rushing wind, tongues of fire, and supernatural abilities were at the center of a singular movement of God that transformed the lives of a multitude of diverse people. This event was so incredible that even first-hand observers struggled to grasp its reality. For the sceptic who needed to “see it to believe it,” Pentecost was the undeniable proof of the Father God, Jesus our savior, and the Holy Spirit at work. For one Sunday, we will dig through history for the proof of this most amazing day and together we will search for and find the next big thing, our own personal Pentecost experience.
